Job Title: Finance Manager
Our client, TPO Uganda is seeking a competent and disciplined individual with integrity to serve as its Finance Manager.
TPO Uganda is an independent non-profit organisation which serves to empower local communities, civil society organizations and government to meet the psychosocial and mental health needs of communities.
With its headquarters in Kampala, TPO Uganda works in close to 20 districts in the war affected northern and eastern regions of the country delivering various social development projects.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Country Director and supervising close to 10 staff in the accounting department, the Finance Manager is a member of the senior management team. He / She will be expected to coordinate the strategic activities of the finance function and manage organizational resources in line with organizational policies and management procedures.
Key Result Areas:
· Supervise and monitor the liquidity position and treasury function of the organization to ensure that the organization can meet its financial obligations as they fall due.
· Supervise, support and maintain a competent finance team as well as training of the non finance team in line with the Human Resources Policies
· To respond timely and consistently to audit queries and implement audit recommendations from both external and internal auditors.
· Participate in the review and preparation of project budget and cash flow statements that comply with grant agreements and are realistic to the financial needs of TPO
· Improve and maintain financial and management gathering information systems that will enable accurate and timely reporting (both internally and externally)
· Monitor and maintain the general internal control environment by ensuring proper utilization of organizational resources.
· Ensure efficient and effective corporate assets management
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
· University degree in Commerce or Business Administration majoring in Accounting; plus full professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA etc).
· A minimum of 5 years experience at a senior level in a finance/ accounting position in the NGO sector
· Experience with donor accountability and the management of resources will be a pre-requisite for selection.
· Must have strong management accounting and financial skills’ including interacting with the Board Finance Committee.
· Must have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and willingness for frequent travel to post-conflict areas in TPO’s operational areas
· A strong team leader/player, mature and able to work independently and with integrity
· Excellent knowledge and use of computerized accounting software particularly Sage, Pastel
