About US:

The Collaboration
for Evidence-Based Healthcare and Public Health in Africa CEBHA+ consortium is
one of the Research Networks for Health Innovations in Sub-Sahara Africa
(Health Africa) that received five year (2017 to 2022) funding from the Federal
Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). CEBHA+ consist of 2 Germany and 7
African Institutions that aim to study selected Non-Communicable Diseases
(NCDs) in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The goal of CEBHA+ is to gather evidence,
build long-term capacity and infrastructure for Evidence-based Healthcare
(EBHC) and public health, and inform policy in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA).

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute in managing CEBHA+ website and social media, including
    working with website developers, posting regular social media updates and
    engaging with people on CEBHA+ social media channels.
  • Work with the other CEBHA partners to develop brochures, newsletters
    and participate in editing any content before it is published
  • Work closely with the CEBHA+ Administrative assistant to create and
    coordinate CEBHA+ presence across relevant social media platforms (e.g.
    Facebook, Twitter) as well as traditional media (TV, press, radio) for
    media coverage
  • Participate in organizing and holding CEBHA+ events, such as
    networking annual meetings, integrated knowledge translation (IKT)
    workshops and regular CEBHA+ meetings as per schedule of meetings among
    other events.
  • Participate in development and Implementation of an aligned strategy
    for communicating with common stakeholders covering “Dissemination and
    outreach” and “strategic dissemination of IKT approach
  • Finding opportunities for advertising and promoting CEBHA+
    interventions/activities
  • Assist the CEBHA+ MU Coordination Administrative Assistant in
    submitting, tracking progress and results of requests for:
    supplies/purchases, payments, funds, services ordered and comments that
    may be requested by the GIZ or Makerere University officers.
  • Participate in regular CEBHA+ consortium meetings to discuss
    progress and issues to be resolved, and report progress on assignments to
    relevant CEBHA personnel.
  • Assist the CEBHA+ administrative Assistant in providing day to day
    administrative support and keeping track of all CEHBA+ coordination office
    planned activities
  • Any other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in: Information
    Technology, Mass Communication, Computer Science; Information Systems,
    Business Administration, computer engineering, Business Computing,
    Business Statistics and related field from a recognized University
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, word
    processing, email processing, database, graphics, web design, spreadsheet,
    social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter) and media coverage (TV,
    press, radio)
  • Relevant training and experience in communication.
  • The applicant must have demonstrable experience in cooperate
    communications, excellent writing, analytical and oral presentation
    skills.
  • Working knowledge of records management and general office
    administration
  • Excellent English both oral and written
  • Highly organised, trustworthy, able to multi-task and good planning
    skills
  • Good relationship with people of different levels and customer care
    skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and
    manage changing priorities
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work hard both independently and
    with a team
