Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mainstreaming and promoting best practices in environment in the
Mining, Energy and Oil and Gas sector; - The jobholder will be developing and reviewing Environment Impact assessments,
Environment Audits and Strategic Environment Assessments (SEAs) and
Environment Management Plans; - Participating in enforcement, training, monitoring and inspection
for compliance to Environment Standards and Policies; - Developing and implementing Environment Standards, Policies,
management systems and plans, procedure and codes of conduct, Strategic
Environment Assessment (SEA), Environment and Social Impact assessments,
Environmental Management Plans and Environment Audits in collaboration
with other MDAs; - Preparing quarterly and annual performance reports;
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours
Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science, or Forestry, or
Zoology, or Environment, or Environmental Engineering from a recognised
University. - Ethics and integrity; interpersonal, communication and computer
skills; ability to adapt to multi cultural settings; effective organizational
and planning skills; time management skills; technical skills; report
writing skills; negotiation skills; capacity for teamwork; innovation and
concern for results, quality and standards. - Age: Below 21
years
