Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres
of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa,
Eastern Europe and North America.
Job Summary: The Paediatric & Adolescent Coordinator
will be responsible for reviewing and monitoring the implementation of systems,
policies and procedures for aligning ‘paediatric and adolescent care’ standard
operating procedures from the district level to health facility and community
level in line with baylor uganda’s mission
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare annual and quarterly activity work plan and budget and
monitor the implementation of the planned activities - Develop and monitor the implementation of paediatrics and adolescent
capacity building plan based on clearly identified need - Monitor the implementation of interventions for targeted
identification of hiv exposed infants and infected children - Develop a system to periodically monitor the implementation of
strategies for retention of hiv exposed infants and infected children into
care - Develop a system to periodically monitor the implementation of
strategies for increasing uptake of adolescent hiv care package and
promoting a culture that demarcate characteristics of adolescent friendly
services per supported health facility - Bench mark the current status of health facilities in the region
regarding hiv testing and care services for children and adolescents - Monitor the integration and implementation of quality improvement
into mentorships for paediatric services. - Develop and monitor early childhood development strategies for
management of psychosocial issues affecting children in care. develop and
strengthen partnerships and networks, participating in operational
research.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Masters in pediatrics with a background of
a degree in MBChB - Registered with the uganda medical and dental practitioners council
preferably with health systems strengthening management training. - At least two years of experience in managing maternal health programs
/ projects & 1 year relevant working experience preferably in health
development senior management positions, with a reputable international ngo,
and direct experience with government and donor representatives
