Job Summary:  The Child Protection Case Worker – MOFA Project will provide support in identifying, documenting and responding to child protection cases of vulnerable children in refugee settlements. The case worker will monitor, conduct case by case follow ups and facilitate the interim care and reunification process of separated or unaccompanied children as a result of the South Sudanese refugee influx.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Management:

  • Work with caregivers working in child protection and ensure participation in psychosocial support activities.
  • Monitor and supervise caregivers at ECD on curriculum and codes of conducts.
  • Maintain the child protection Minimum standards at the CFS.
  • Support the team to Identify, document, refer and follow up on 100% cases of vulnerable children in the ECD/CFS Centers.
  • Support vulnerable children and ensure they have access to the basic care relief items, services in the community and interim care.
  • Ensure all the necessary paper work for case management, completed accurately and stored in the case files to facilitate CPIMS data entry

Case Management

  • Updated case plans and case by case support form for support
  • Children receive direct case by case support.
  • BIAs for child protection concern filled

Case Referrals

  • Children referred and followed up for specialized services including PSS, among others.
  • Children with psychosocial distress who are enrolled in surrounding child friendly spaces.
  • Cases identified and reported by community structures

Case Monitoring

  • Monitoring plan developed with supervisor and being implemented.
  • Total number of monitoring conducted
  • Updated list of children who receive regular monitoring
  • And 100% entry of cases in ProGress version 4.

Technical and capacity building

  • Hold sessions and consultations with children on activities to participate in and design monthly CFS time tables with children.
  • Actively participate in reflection and dialogue meetings within the community and mobilize children for peace building activities at the CFS and within the community
  • Orient caregivers on child protection policy, peace building activities (ECaP) model.

Reporting

  • Compile and submit weekly and monthly updates, CFS&ECD statistics. Plus reports on activity carried out.
  • Prepare and submit weekly work plan.
  • Documentation of success stories

Coordination and Networking

  • Attend and participate in community meeting, settlement coordination and working group meetings.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant for the World Vision Child Protection Case Worker – MOFA Project job must hold a Diploma in social science, Community Psychology and Education
  • At least one year of experience in working with refugees especially children.
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills.
  • Skills in Accountability Communication, Organizational Awareness, Teamwork & Collaboration, Commitment to Continuous Learning and Client & Result Orientation
  • Experience with community mobilization
  • Experience in working with children.
  • Must work well within ethnically diverse teams, and work cooperatively within teams
  • Language skills; must have exemplary languages spoken in West Nile region (Adjumani District) and English. & Willingness to work ‘in the field’ for a minimum of Five days a week.
