Project Manager Job at ThoughtWorks

Job Title: Project Manager
Organisation: ThoughtWorks
Duty Station: Kampala,
Uganda
About ThoughtWorks:
As we start to build our new office in Uganda, we are looking for
amazing people to join our team. We’re looking for experienced project managers
to be part of the projects that we have. Now, being a ThoughtWorks project manager
is a little bit different to that role in most organisations. When some people
think of project managers they think of hierarchy and control. That’s not how
it works here. Yes, you’ll be one of our more experienced people and with that
will come lots of responsibility for how we manage and deliver to our clients.
But we don’t do heavy management or big company politics. We’re collaborators,
which means you’ll sit around the same table as the rest of the team, coming up
with creative ways to turn ideas into solutions, delivering software and
delighting our clients. More importantly, you won’t be handed a one size fits
all, traditional big consultancy methodology and be asked to enforce it.
Instead, you’ll be asked to use cutting edge Agile and Lean practices to lead
self-organizing teams to deliver software that does exactly what is needed.

From a humanist perspective, we’re committed to using the power of technology
to improve our world. Our Social Impact Program is led by a set of experts who
combine a passion for social change with real-life experience in technology
design, delivery and deployment in the developing world.
