Products and services including; Savings, Current accounts, Loans, Money transfer
services and Bills payments to its target market which comprises of micro,
small and medium entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.
Job Summary: The Risk
Manager will technically support the Head of Risk in identifying, defi­ning, managing
and monitoring speci­fic risks presented in the various portfolio segments, in
order to maximize profi­tability and / or minimize potential losses and tract risk
trends, thus reducing the level of the risk related losses to the bank.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Develop key risk indicators and communicate
    them throughout the company
  • Intuitively analyse the company’s market
    position and running ­figures through risk modelling techniques a­nd
    value at risk (VAR) measurements.
  • Actively participate in the generation of management
    strategies, based on risk and profitability models to support the company
    in the achievement of its objective.
  • Use segmentation tools based on pro­fitability
    and risk, protect the organization’s assets and public image as well as
    conduct research to assess the severity of risk.
  • Technically support the implementation of performance
    analytic tools in agreement with the Bank of Uganda guidelines and CAMEL
    ratings.Mentor and train staff on risk measures for the benefit of
    the bank in their daily scope of work.
  • Monitoring the implementation of the risk management
    efforts.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:  
  • The applicant must have at least six (6) years
    of professional experience, four (4) years of which must be gained from a
    supervisory role in a fi­nancial institution.
  • The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Actuarial science, Business
    Administration or any other related discipline gained from a recognized
    university.
  • Detailed knowledge of risk analysis system
    is an added advantage.
  • Good Supervisory skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical & problem solving
    skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to work with minimal
    supervision.
