N2 Africa is the project Putting Nitrogen to work for smallholder
farmers in Africa. In Uganda the project is operating in 3 regions; Eastern,
Northern and South Western Uganda. The position will be for a period of 2
years, renewable depending on performance and availability of funding.

Job Summary: The Data
Analyst for N2 Project will mainly ensure acquisition of appropriate and
quality data, from the project research trials, analysis and reporting for
smooth implementation and achievement of the project goals.. He or she will
overall be responsible for project data management

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Provide training and support to field
teams and dissemination partners in establishment of agronomic research
trials - Develop instruments for collection of
quality data from agronomic trials and socio economic studies - Be responsible for entry of data, analysis
and synthesis of outputs of analysis draw correct and logical conclusions - Responsible for storage of all the project
research data and sharing it with the Senior project data analyst - Compile and write summary reports from the
data outputs and contribute to writing of technical reports and
manuscripts - Inform IITA and other project partners
about the progress achieved and ensure timely output and feedback. - Perform any other duty as assigned by the
supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold an MSc
in any of the disciplines of Soil Science, Agronomy with competences in
Biometrics/ statistics from a highly recognized University - At least two (2) years experience on
agronomic field experimentation and research data management - At least two years experience in analysis
and general management of research data - Possess the capability of organizing,
managing, and participating in agricultural and socio- economic research
including design of experimental and socioeconomic research protocols - Extensive exposure and knowledge of
qualitative and quantitative analyses will be an added advantage - Working knowledge and ability to use of
data analysis packages such as, Genstat, SPSS, Starter, SAS, etc. - Possess the ability to work in a
multidisciplinary and multi-cultural environment. - Excellent communication skills
- Possession of a valid driving permit will
be an added advantage.
