Job Summary: The Manager Procurement and Disposal Unit is
responsible for providing leadership to the Procurement and Disposal Unit.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the procurement and disposal activities of the
University. - Prepare and implement the Procurement and Disposal Plan of the
University. - Prepare and submit periodic reports for the Contracts Committee,
Accounting Officer and PPDA. - Ensure compliance and conformity with Government Procurement and
Disposal regulations. - Provide timely information to the Accounting Officer on all
procurement activities of the University. - Coordinate and ensure that Sub Procurement Units, Evaluation
Committees and Contracts Committee are functioning effectively and fully compliance
with applicable regulations. - Coordinate and ensure that all procurement processes are performed
in a timely, efficient and effective manner. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Masters Degree in Procurement / Purchasing
or MBA with specialty in Procurement - A Bachelors Degree in Procurement /Purchasing OR Bachelor of
Commerce (B.COM) OR Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), - Full membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and
Supplies (CIPS) is a MUST. - At least eight years of relevant working experience, 4 years of
which should have been at Senior Managerial level in a reputable
Organization. - In-depth knowledge of regulatory Laws, Policies and Practices in
Public Procurement. - Excellent understanding of public procurement regulations and
processes - Leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to build, lead, and work with teams
- Contract management experience
- Computer literacy
- Interpersonal & communication skills
- Quick judgment and decision making
- Ability to initiate change
- Honesty and integrity
- Age: Below 50
years
