Job Summary: NIC General Insurance is looking for an experienced person to take up a position of Senior IT Officer – Business Systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the full business automation efforts as the technical lead.
- Assist in supervising the IT interns.
- Assist in developing new web-based software applications and/or modules as and when needed
- Test developed web application systems.
- Provide advanced help desk support to staff on all NIC systems and network
- Assist personnel of other departments as an IT resource.
- Performing Cyber security awareness training of all users quarterly.
- Website and software application designing, building, or maintaining using scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications, and digital media.
- Assist in performing website updates at the request of the corporate communications department.
- Back up files from Web sites to local directories and cloud storage.
- Any other professional duties as may be required from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in programming using common web development tools and languages.
- Skilled in managing databases using SQL or NoSQL technologies,
- Working knowledge of operating systems like Linux, macOS, and Windows.
- Basic understanding of secure coding practices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
