The Women’s International Peace Centre, formerly Isis-WICCE, is a feminist organization founded in 1974 and based in Kampala, Uganda. Our mission is to ignite women’s leadership, amplify their voices, and deepen their impact in recreating peace. Our WEAVE model intersects research (on women’s specific experiences and needs), evidence-based advocacy (to influence national, regional, and international policy and practice), holistic healing (to enable women’s wellbeing and participation in peace processes), skills and movement building to equip WHRDs with necessary skills, build networks and facilitate exchange of strategies to advance women’s leadership for peace.

 

Job Summary:  The procurement and compliance officer will oversee the procurement activities of the organization and monitor all operational processes and procedures using a compliance management manual to ensure that the organization complies with all legal regulations and ethical standards. Under the supervision of the Deputy Executive Director, the procurement and compliance Officer will undertake the following functions; ensure adherence to the organisation’s procurement and donor procedures. needs assessment and collaboration in linen with the different departments, coordinate the procurement committee meetings and ensure donor and legal compliance.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Membership of professional accounting bodies such as ACCA and CPA is an added advantage.
  • At least five years of extensive experience in logistics, procurement and donor grants management.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of NGO statutory compliance obligations
  • Knowledge of Rules and regulations for key donors such as USAID, the European Union among others
