Job Summary:  Successful candidates will have a strong background in financial planning and forecasting, financial modeling, due diligence, and communication with business managers and investors. The Company has several ongoing fundraising processes and wishes to bring these investment-related activities in-house.

The Corporate Finance Senior Associate will be responsible for assisting the company in securing debt and equity financing, and supporting the Group Finance team on  financial, planning, and analysis work.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis and Budgeting/Forecasting/Reporting

  • Lead the Group’s 2-year group budgeting process by setting up a standardized template with country MD and quality controlling based on historical/standard costing
  • Support on the preparation and compilation of board materials
  • Support on financial analysis of consolidated monthly group-level statements with commentary and provide analyses, costing, variance, and financial results to inform operational and strategic decisions
  • Lead on the group-wide forecasting process with comparable market and consolidated outputs
  • Support month-end reporting by taking on reporting tasks and providing operating results and variance analysis
  • Work within the Group finance team to establish actionable Finance KPI’s Fundraising
  • Manage the transaction process from start to finish and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution
  • Conduct market and industry research to support the transaction
  • Visit the Company’s operations and meet with management teams to understand the Company’s business model, value proposition and unique differentiating factors
  • Create detailed financial models and valuation analyses
  • Prepare and update information memoranda, teaser, business plans and other marketing materials to pitch investors
  • Ensure the Company’s data room is well organized and enables secure access
  • Prepare investor list for outreach and identify key contacts at each investor
  • Perform outreach and communicate with targeted investors about the investment opportunity
  • Respond to investor queries related to the business plan, information memorandum and financial model to support their evaluation of the Company
  • Secure offers from interested investors, and participate in negotiations on the Company’s behalf
  • Liaise with investors and third-party due diligence providers (tax, financial, commercial, legal) and manage the overall due diligence process from end to end
  • Support as needed on transaction documentation and work with legal counsel of the Company and investors through to transaction close
  • Maintain an up-to-date data room appropriate for third-party investors
  • Respond to investor queries, coordinating with relevant personnel as required, and ensuring accuracy/quality of all information




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Passionate about positively impacting smallholder farmers and customers in rural Africa
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field
  • Strong financial planning and analysis skills and being able to analyze large data sets
  • Preferable previous experience in either financial planning and analysis (FP&A), transaction advisory, corporate finance, or related fields, such as investment banking, private equity, or impact investing
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel
  • Experience preparing information memoranda and other marketing materials in Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
