Job Summary:   This is a full-time, on-site, Accounts Assistant role located in Kampala. The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for performing daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports. The Accounts Assistant will also work closely with the accounting team and management to support financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting regulations and standards.

The following are the duties and roles of the accountant at Aaryanshh Organics limited.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately input financial data into the accounting system.
  • Assist in monitoring project budgets and expenditures.
  • Support comprehensive financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct financial analyses to provide insights for decision-making.
  • Maintain well-organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Enforce compliance with financial policy, ensuring timely submission of receipts, invoices, quotes, costings, and contracts by colleagues.
  • Efficiently manage petty cash transactions and ensure accountability.
  • Collaborate in drafting budgets and provide monthly accountabilities for all expenditures, including cash and bank reconciliation.
  • Manage all payments to suppliers and oversee the procurement process.
  • Manage inventory, stock, and asset records, ensuring compliance with the asset policy.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by carrying out field assessments, monitoring financial activities as part of internal audit processes.
  • In charge of the preparation of financial statements in line with IAS and IFRS guidelines and support schedules.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory returns to NSSF, and Uganda Revenue Authority and timely submission of remittances to all statutory bodies.
  • Ensure that all tax computations are made i.e. corporation tax, stamp duty, VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, and LST to all statutory bodies.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial systems and information, whilst ensuring compliance with all regulatory, statutory and internal control procedure requirements.
  • Preparation of the monthly and quarterly management report.
  • Preparation of the bank reconciliation statements at the end of the month and daily monitoring of the bank accounts to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet the obligations of the business.
  • Review of reconciliations between EFRIS and Internal Accounting systems.
  • Prepare the monthly payroll, file related taxes and process payments.
  • Review payments for accuracy, completeness, and against budget before execution of payment.
  • Check and authorize vouchers.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelors/ Diploma degree in Business required preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • Two years of accounting experience.
  • Good working knowledge of tally accounting system.
  • Good working knowledge of MS office applications such as Ms Excel and Ms Word.
  • Knowledge of general accounting and fiscal management principles.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Experience in tally and/or other accounting software, and certification in bookkeeping or accounting is a plus.
