About US:

The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is a statutory body established under Section 9 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production Act 2013, and in line with the National Oil and Gas Policy for Uganda which was approved in 2008. The PAU’s mandate is to monitor and regulate the exploration, development and production, together with the refining, gas conversion, transportation and storage of petroleum in Uganda. This includes ensuring that petroleum operations in Uganda are carried out in accordance with the relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, statutes and in line with international best practice for the petroleum industry.

 

Job Summary: The Estates & Transport Officer will manage the delivery of estates and transport services to support business operations in PAU.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze transport requests and allocate appropriate transport means.
  • Contribute to approving requests for vehicle maintenance and repairs, pre and post-vehicle inspections are done before and after repairs, respectively.
  • Assists in monitoring the performance of garage service providers as well as initiating the procurement of vehicle consumables/accessories, such as tires, and fuel, on regular basis.
  • Monitoring vehicle usage and maintenance and identify areas of improvement, as well as develop and review Policies/Manuals which govern operations in the transport section.
  • Contribute to providing coaching and mentoring to staff under his/her jurisdiction
  • Monitor PAU maintenance/renovation contracts to ensure adherence to service level agreement (SLA) and value for money.
  • Identify appropriate office premises, work with related government agencies to come up with the right value, and manage tenancy agreements
  • Partake in establishing the annual office equipment and utilities budget, and initiate procurement requisition as well as analyze and develop terms of reference for estate works and supervise the projects.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering. ii. Registration with the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant working experience
  • Team building and Negotiation skills.
  • Problem solving and Supervisory skills
  • Counselling and guidance skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to manage stress and work under pressure
  • Effective verbal and listening skills
