Job Summary:   Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Sales Engineer will manage the Solar Section operations by developing sales plans, engaging in client relations, and studying partnerships, and alliances, setting and achieving sales targets, managing operations and quality control, reviewing designs implementation, and collaborating with branch managers and functional heads to increase the market share and market visibility for the company renewables solutions in the local markets and as required.

  • Prepare On-Grid, Off-Grid and Hybrid Solar Systems drawings and designs, and technical specifications that meet the customer (Direct) or customer representative needs (consultant, project manager, contractor, etc.) and coordinate with Business Development, Sales, and After Sales on the Installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Develops Solar project scopes and deliverables, designs and plans, follows up on the implementation, and collects relevant project performance data, as well as, ensure project deliverables are achieved within the quality, cost, and time frames, all while controlling project risks, managing project resources, and providing frequent reporting to management.
  • Provide timely reporting to management and internal stakeholders on potential and current projects, new technologies and products, competition, and industry trends.
  • Provide support to affiliate companies in the group as required, and align with corporate imperatives in the sales and renewables field.
  • Design and conduct training and development tools, awareness’s, and workshops for technical and sales teams, exhibition attendants, and potential customers as well, design and update standard procedures for renewables.
  • Liaise with marketing and other departments in promoting and raising awareness for Renewable and Hybrid Solutions; Participate in exhibitions, seminars, and events to engage with potential stakeholders in the energy field.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the renewables energy, and stay updated on latest renewables and hybrid solutions and technologies, as well, keeps internal stakeholders aware of recent and future trends in the industry.
  • Contribute to the development and manage the communication and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, in order to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are clearly communicated and duly fulfilled.
  • Contribute to the management of departmental compliance to all relevant health, safety and Environmental requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance
  • Contribute to the development of departmental strategy as cascaded down from the functional strategy and oversee its implementation within own section and its operations, in order to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across the company.
  • Manage the sectional team of direct and indirect reports through effective recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning, in order to maximize team performance and achieve sectional objectives.
  • Manage the section’s daily operations by providing expertise, enabling teamwork, and aligning processes, in order to achieve high performance standards and meet established targets.
  • Contribute to the development and consolidation of the departmental budget and monitor own section’s financial performance versus the budget, in order to ensure the exercising of financial authority within established limits and the control of sectional budget expenditure.
  • Lead the process of identification, assessment, and analysis for the local market in terms of renewables and the anticipated needs, potential applications, and key stakeholders, to generate periodic reports to support management decisions in the field.
  • Design and implement sales strategies to achieve renewable energy sales targets for Ghana and West Africa as needed, and collaborate with sales, technical, and after sales to maintain and expand client network and account returns.
  • Provide input to Renewables related supply chain, including: Forecasts, Logistics, Assembly (and related manufacturing), site delivery, stock availability, etc. in coordination with Supply Chain Functions.
  • Answers to formal queries (specifications, BOQs, Drawings, technical submittals, etc.), by performing the needed inspections and research, coordinating and communicating with the related stakeholders to compile accurate and comprehensive company representing documentation.
  • Establish relationship with key stakeholders in the PV field, as well as, develop and retain relations with new and existing customers, partners, dealers, and vendors.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Previous experience, preferably in Solar or related industry.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of production processes, equipment, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
