We are a women-led research institution that designs innovative solutions to tackle poverty, health inequities, gender inequality and social injustice using an intersectional lens and human centred design.
Job Summary: The Graphics Designer/Administrative Assistant will provide technical support in the editing of reports and graphical design using a wide range of media and graphical design software.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals
- Obtain input from managers to ensure that designs meet organizational standards
- Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities
- Participate in graphical design of evaluation reports, policy briefs and any other technical writings.
- Participate in drafting of power point presentations
- Work with a wide range of media and graphic design software
- Establish creative direction for the company within brand guidelines
- Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
- Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces
- Support the oversight of child protection and safeguarding mechanisms to protect communities during research activities.
- Provide solutions to field related challenges during data collection
- Schedule meetings with clients to provide updates on the progress of research and evaluation activities
- Ensure compliance to organisational and client policies, rules and procedures during the execution of research and evaluation activities.
- Hold regular team interface meetings with consultants/research teams to track progress of research activities.
- Manage research program milestones to meet customer requirements
- Manage/track program spending to prevent cost overruns
- Support new business development activities such as RFI and RFP submittals
- Perform any other duties as shall be assigned by your line manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Diploma or Degree in a creative field such as Graphics Design, IT, amongst others. Please note that we are flexible with academic qualifications as long as a candidate can demonstrate strong skills in graphical design, editing and development of power point presentations
- One year of experience in graphics design and using programs such as Adobe Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, Canvas and Illustrator
- Strong skills in graphical design and using graphical; deign software (Adobe Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, and Illustrator)
- Strong editing and proofreading skills
- Commitment to Feminism and Disability Inclusion
- Well-developed cross-cultural skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and web
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills
- Experience with both print and digital media
- Fluency in English
