Job Summary:  The Business Development Officer will be responsible for offering support to the Single Distribution Manager for the consistent growth of sales in the Channel. The role holder will report directly to the Single Distribution Manager

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In liaison with the Agency heads coordinate the licensing application process for all Financial Advisors
  • Follow up and requisition for all logistical requirements for the Agency Channel in order to have them approved and settled with in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and collect financial advisors information and update their files in line with company standards.
  • In liaison with the Agency heads Coordinate all training/induction of new Financial Advisors.
  • Shall assist in the preparation of the Bids for Agents and ensure that these are delivered on time.
  • Ensure that commissions and retainers which are due are paid to the Financial Advisors on the agreed dates a cross the single distribution Channel.
  • Verification of Financial Advisors client KYC data to ensure it is captured fully on proposal forms before being submitted to underwriting
  • Ensure that policy renewal notices and statements are sent to the Financial Advisors and follow-up to ensure renewal are met.
  • Secretary to the Chairperson in all the Financial Advisors meetings carried out and will be tasked to submit timely minutes to management for action.
  • Provide competitive quotes to agents as and when request are made for a threshold to be agreed.
  • Ensure strict implementation and compliance to the cash and carry law
  • Follow up with Underwriting to ensure policies and endorsements are issued in a timely manner on behalf of the agency
  • Follow up on premium remittance & reconciliation for Financial Advisors’ generated businesses
  • Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the departments’ strategy map, balance scorecard and personal scorecard.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer/software packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
  • Two to three years of experience in a similar position
  • Experience working with diverse teams
