Job Summary:  The EVD assistants will work closely with the EVD program officers attached to their respective divisions to support post EVD recovery activities at private for-profit health facilities and drug shops. The EVD assistants will have the following

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the EVD program officers to organize in person cluster level CMEs for the PFP health providers across the 5 divisions of Kampala.
  • Conduct targeted follow-on post outbreak IPC assessments and mentorships for healthcare workers.
  • Work closely with the EVD program officers to organize cluster-level advocacy and harvest meetings for the PFP health providers across the 5 divisions of Kampala.
  • Actively participate and engage private for-profit health providers on virtual IPC private sector learning platforms.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant should hold a basic diploma or bachelor’s degree in medicine, Nursing, or Midwifery. Experience in public health interventions will be an added advantage.
  • At least two years of work experience in public health program implementation
  • Experience and or knowledge on Uganda’s EVD response, public sector and private sector health systems will be of added advantage.
  • Ability to work with and understand health data and health management information systems, including presentation of data in creative ways.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with health facility and division teams.
