Job Summary:  The Corporate Fundraising & Partnerships Officer will provide excellent support to our range of Corporate partners, ensuring that we are maximizing current partnerships, looking for creative and innovative ways to generate funding and providing excellent support. Working closely with the Director Communications, Resource Mobilization & Partnerships, the post holder will support the delivery of a quality corporate partnership engagements.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Manager to generate funds from the private sector to meet Institutional income targets while protecting the URCS reputation;
  • Planning and delivery of URCS events for institutional profiling and resource mobilization;
  • Writing high quality external communications documents, including monthly updates emails to corporate partners and ambassadors, new business proposals,
  • partnership contracts, and other marketing materials as required;
  • Identify potential new sources of corporate funding and secure new business development meetings with potential partners;
  • Building strong relationships with both existing and new partners, ensuring meetings are followed up on, and opportunities to secure new support are maximized;
  • Ensure timely execution of the URCS corporate relationships, through ensuring timely invoice raising, and preparing partnership/supporter agreements where appropriate;
  • Develop business development proposals in line with the URCS Financial sustainability priorities;
  • Support documentation for Partner reporting and compliance;
  • Champion innovation by identifying new income streams through commercially viable products and fundraising activity;
  • Identify and stay abreast of key market trends, new opportunities for funding and key decision makers;
  • Undertake any other duties relevant to this role, as reasonably required;
  • Contribute to and support other departmental work as appropriate.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development/Policy/Relations, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Development Management from an approved, recognized and reputable university.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience in a similar position and/or demonstrated progressive professional experience in partnership management, new business development, sales, marketing and/or fundraising.
  • A combination of non-profit and corporate experience is a plus;
  • Experience with developing and implementing private sector engagement plans or strategies;
  • Experience in managing high-level meetings and events;
  • Experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders, both internal and external;
  • Experience in understanding how to reconcile different needs and interests and negotiate for mutually beneficial outcomes;
  • Experience in developing products for private sector audiences, including writing and editing letters, proposals, appeals, reports, acknowledgements, briefings, and any other products targeting private sector entities;
  • Experience in explaining complex issues to external audiences in an appealing and concise manner.
