Job Summary: The Commercial Performance Analyst will report to the Commercial Performance and Pricing Manager and will be the first contact of the Sales team to the Finance, Procurement, Production and Logistics functions with the task of guiding company performance towards Sales Revenue and Cost optimization through performance tracking, strategy, commercial digital transformation and pricing.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurately generate the required business performance decks and info packs leveraging the available performance data inputs.
  • Collect and analyse sales performance records and trends, interpret results of the overall sales, establish a baseline for action and operational changes which guide promotion or change of personnel in case of under-performance.
  • Keep track of all trade activities in the company: Avail timely and accurate inputs related to trade activities, monitor and evaluate the different initiatives by implementing periodical reviews to assess whether they are delivering as per plan. In addition, leverage available insights to recommend actionable measures to course correct.
  • Determine the threshold of performance warning to grasp each internal and external explanatory factor of performance.
  • Carry out all regular and ad hoc data analytics activities to enable business to obtain better insights.
  • Prepares financial analysis and modelling for promotions and price changes to aid decision making.

  • Establish customers’ profiles, segments and usage in order to predict customer behavior, Identify and monitor external and internal factors that may affect business performance.
  • Propose, systematically analyze and interpret leading and lagging Sales Key Performance Indicators in line with the Group KPIs and appropriate local indicators. Provide customized reporting and recommendations needed to guide ongoing business decisions or initiatives.
  • Provide all required sales performance input in monthly and ad hoc reports to the B.O.D, the Group, Communications, Marketing, Business Planning and Production management functions. Communicate results to key stakeholders in order to support informed business decisions by providing in-depth analysis and recommendations.
  • Co-ordinate the complete sales forecasting processes (short or long-range) for all sales regions and submit the same to all respective parties; Finance, Logistics, Production management and S&OP as and when needed.
  • Work together with Finance and the Sales Director to plan, monitor and analyze the sales SG&A to ensure cost optimization.
  • As the sales Single Point of Contact to S&OP, attend all S&OP meetings, provide all sales performance updates and work towards finding solutions to any sales challenges raised before the weekly meetings.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelors of honors degree in Statistics, Commerce or Finance
  • At least two years of experience in a highly analytical business environment.
  • Strong multiple source data aggregation skills and some analytical mindset.
  • Knowledge of technology supported platforms.
  • Navigate multiple data sources for insights & recommendations generation.
  • Diligent attention to detail.
  • Strong people relations skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to covey complex information to a broad audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders and is comfortable building relationships across departments.
  • Experience extracting, manipulating and analyzing data with strong MS Office applications’ knowledge particularly, Excel and Power-point.
  • Self-driven, results oriented.
  • High level of integrity
  • Good communication skills across the business
  • Able to plan and prioritise
  • Experience in managing dead- lines and work load
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Should be innovate and excellent team player with good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable dealing with people and a good listener

  • Flexibility to work anywhere within Uganda is added advantage
