Job Summary:  The General Manager Corporate Services will be responsible for the delivery of cost-effective Corporate Services across all the bank’s locations.  Developing, reviewing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of administrative strategies, providing logistical and service support and managing physical assets and estates of the Bank in line with the Bank’s corporate objectives and annual work plans of departments.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As a member of Exco, participate in the development and implementation of Centenary Bank’s strategic and business plans, contributing personal expertise in Corporate Services.
  • Draw up the Bank’s rolling 3-year corporate services work plan, monitor implementation and evaluate performance in line with Centenary Bank’s policies, approved budget and strategic plan; taking or recommending appropriate corrective action as required.
  • Plan, review and coordinate provision and maintenance of adequate physical assets (including the vehicle fleet) to support implementation of the bank’s strategic and operational plans; ensure adequate insurance cover
  • Develop and oversee implementation of stores management policies, procedures, systems and routines that will ensure adequate provision of necessary supplies whilst minimizing working capital tied up in stocks and ensuring security of resources.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of the Bank’s facilities plan (to include acquisition or development of new facilities as well as maintenance of old); ensuring that all facilities showcase Centenary Bank’s brand.
  • Plan, develop, review and evaluate the Bank’s procurements, distribution and asset disposal systems and procedures; ensuring that implementation is in line with the Bank’s policies and best practice
  • Oversee the provision of administrative, logistical and office support to the bank (including management of the bank’s records, archive and corporate memory systems).
  • Ensure that the bank’s interests are protected in negotiating with and contracting of service providers; taking appropriate corrective action if service provision falls short of requirements and to ensure value for money in all transactions.
  • Develop staff and evaluate their performance in line with the performance management system of the Bank and Human resource manual.
  • Attend procurement committee meetings; providing technical guidance to the tender committee.
  • Oversee the automation and operationalization of the functions in Corporate Services especially the procurement process.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Masters’ degree in Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or equivalent
  • At least five (5) years of experience at a senior managerial level in Corporate Services Department of a reputable institution including public procurement, Estates management, Fleet management and General administration.
  • Numerical abilities – significant budget management; comprehension of working capital (standard)
  • IT standard, stores, and fleet management specialist software; and e-procurement hands on exposure.
  • Strong leadership abilities & People management skills

  • Superior problems solving abilities including developing systems, and balancing cost-benefit of such decisions.
  • Creativity- Ensuring that the Bank facilities comply with Centenary Bank’s brand.
