Job Title:   Regional Sales Manager – Lango Sub-region

OKO is a new player in the world of crop insurance. We are using new technologies in satellite imagery and weather forecasting to simplify and automatize claim management, and thus creating low-cost crop insurance for smallholder farms. (www.oko.finance )

 

We provide effective, affordable insurance to farmers in emerging markets and deliver instant claim settlement. By leveraging the increasing influence of mobile technology, we aim to help overcome income distribution insufficiencies for those who feed the world.

 

This service is offered on mobile, in a dematerialized way: registration can be done by using feature or smartphones, and payment is made via Mobile Money.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train and manage a network of OKO agents who will be responsible for the distribution/selling of our crop insurance in the Lango sub- region.
  • Analyze performance and come up with techniques and ideas to help us meet our targets.
  • Spend adequate time with each agent to see how they are faring on the field
  • Organize training sessions with team members to ensure they are delivering the right information to our customers as well
  • Share best sales techniques with team members to help them improve their productivity
  • Develop sales strategies to help improve agent productivity
  • Establish local partnerships with cooperatives and input distributors.
  • Management of the local marketing budget to promote the image and notoriety of the company
  • Organize awareness-raising and information meetings for producers on crop insurance in the different localities of the region
  • Analyze market developments and competitive offerings in order to continuously adapt the company’s offerings
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of the company’s sales agents and report them to management on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Maintaining relationships with regional strategic partners
  • Identify cases of malicious intent with the help of the Quality Improvement Team and fraud committed by agents, and put in place repressive measures to contravene them.
  • Represent the company at regional or communal events.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must at least hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Two to three years of sales experience / distribution for a PRIVATE company
  • Computer literacy: able to capture data on computer and mobile devices quickly
  • MS Office: Good with MS Office Suite example Excel, PowerPoint and Word which will be used for reporting.
  • Leadership: Team management capacity
  • Knowledge: About the agricultural sector and insurance
  • Reside in and or live in the lango Sub- region. Be an up standing member of the Community and have strong ties within the region.
  • Language: 2 or more local language of the West Nile and Lango sub region + English (read and write)

 

Salary:  Earn up to UGX 1,100,000 with possibility of an additional UGX 500,000 in commission dependent on teams’ performance.
