Job Summary: The Debt Collection Officer will be in charge of the recovery  of  bad/written  off  loans  extended  in  accordance  with  Pride’s  policies  and  procedures  and  the  laws  of  Uganda.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Recovery  of  bad/written  off  loans.

  • Survey and  investigate  clients’  files  for  cases  of
  • Visit defaulting
  • Delivering of  recall  letters  and  ensuring  follow
  • Prepare and  deliver  demand  letters  to  defaulters  and  follow  up  on
  • Prepare and  submit  weekly  and  monthly  progress
  • Train staff  on  debt  recovery

Liaise  with  law  enforcement  on  recovery.

  • Peruse clients’  files  to  establish  type  and  location  of
  • Visit locations  to  establish  the  availability  of  property  for
  • Contact law  enforcement  for  purposes  of
  • Place and  distribute  notices  of
  • Identify the  highest  bidder  and  negotiate  terms  for  the  sale  of  attached
  • Arrange with  the  respective  branch  for  consent  to  sale  and  requisition  of  the  sale

Facilitate  the  prosecution  of  loan  defaulters.

  • Investigate cases  of
  • Gather information  on  clients  from  the  Credit
  • Report matters  of  criminal  nature  to  the
  • Organise potential  witnesses  to  make




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Diploma in    (Lawyers  are  advised  not  to  apply)
  • At least  one  year  experience  in  debt  collection  or  law
