About US:

SPOUTS of Water Ltd is a social venture that locally manufactures and distributes effective ceramic water filters to improve the access to clean drinking water sustainably in Uganda. In addition, we locally manufacture free hand-washing stations to improve access to hygiene.  Our mission is to provide clean drinking water and hygiene services to all East Africans. We currently sell multiple water filter products under the brand name “Purifaaya”.  The Purifaaya provides financial, social, and health benefits for its customers in addition to environmental benefits.

 

Job Summary:  The Stove Champion Program Officer, Clean Energy Initiative will oversee and supervise all activities carried out by the Stove Champions in their areas of operations, meeting of set targets and analysis of data collected from beneficiaries.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Oversees, manages and verifies all activities of the stove champions in the different villages of operations.
  • Works directly with the Quality assurance coordinator in the implementation of the program goals.
  • Create strategies on how to reach the set daily, weekly, monthly annual targets.
  • Data analysis of all the data collected from the champions to find the areas of growth and improvement.
  • Formulate timely reports on all activities, processes, procedures and documentation to track progress of the project.
  • Identify the training requirements to meet the quality standards
  • Determining data-driven solutions and implementing quality improvement plans.
  • Performing regular inspections and spot checks to verify work done by stove champions.
  • Developing internal auditing tools and conducting internal audits and reports.
  • Assisting with the development of company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Always act in a manner consistent with SPOUTS’ values.
  • Comply with the SPOUTS’ standards of conduct and all applicable policies and legislation.
  • Represent SPOUTS in public and official forums, functions and joint ventures as required.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably focused in sciences, health, environment, climate change, gender and development, or international development, with advanced degree(s) in relevant fields is advantageous, depending on field of study and experience gained.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience working with quality systems, quality inspection, auditing, and testing and in implementing corrective/preventive measures.
  • Language requirements
  • High level of competence in spoken and written English language skills.
  • Competence in spoken Luganda language an advantage but not essential.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, basic databases, preferably in a work environment & quality management system.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
