Cream General and Technical Services Ltd is a registered Civil and Building Construction Company based in Mbarara City, with aim of providing professional, quality and reliable engineering services in the field of Roads, Civil, Water, Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural, and Structural Engineering, and consultancy Services, and is looking for qualified candidates to join her team.

 

Job Summary:  To compile budgets estimates and the construction timetable for the client and put up the construction strategy. Participate in selecting the subcontractors and workers, and provide required explanations for the builders and other professionals associated with the project, whilst coordinating and collaborating with the architects, engineers and specialists. Overseeing and documenting all aspects of planning and implementing the company projects.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of planning, implementing and tracking of projects
  • Proper deployment and allocation of material, labor, transport, tools and equipment in line with the Projects budgets.
  • To ensure that the construction projects comply with all building codes and any other legal or regulatory requirements.
  • Manage monitor and interpret the contract design documents obtained from the architect and client.
  • Set up the construction time table for the projects and develop the construction strategy.
  • Develop work methodologies for quality work production.
  • Carry out daily, weekly and periodic technical and financial performances analysis for the projects
  • Communicate with the client and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors) including attending regular meetings to keep them informed about the construction progress.
  • Coordinating, collaborating and guiding the project implementation team
  • Ensure the construction project complies with all building codes and other legal or relating requirements
  • Register sub-contracts and follow up sub- contract works
  • Guide in preparing company competitive bids
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and periodical reports for the aspects of planning, implementation and financial decisions to the management.
  • Any other duty assigned by the supervisor, in addition to your duties may be revised to suit the changing needs of the project. If and when this is necessary you will always be consulted.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent.
  • At least two years’ experience in construction industry
  • Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales.
  • Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Have good practical organization skills, planning of resources and programme Scheduling.
  • Be able to provide both summarized and detailed reports, on current activities.
  • IT Literate able to use Microsoft Office, Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrable experience in construction contracts.
  • Smart and professional appearance.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Customer focused.
  • Communicator & motivator with ability to communicate across all levels
