Job Title: Principal Public Relations Officer

Organisation: Dairy Development Authority (DDA)

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

Reports to:  Executive Director

 

About US:

Dairy Development Authority is a semi-Autonomous Agency under Ministry of Agriculture, Animal industry and Fisheries (MAAIE). Dairy Development Authority was established under the Dairy Industry Act of 1998. Dairy Development Authority’s Mission is “To provide dairy development and regulatory services that will ensure increased production and consumption of milk, sustainable and profitable dairy industry sector that contribute to economic development and improved nutritional standards in Uganda.”

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote the Authority’s image to all the stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategic public relations strategy to communicate the Authority’s key messages to stakeholders and public.
  • Plan, budget and coordinate all public relations promotional programmes within DDA.
  • Maintain stakeholder relations that include internal and external stakeholder partnerships.
  • Address inquiries from the Media and other parties in consultation with technical units.
  • Develop and build DDA’s Corporate Brand that distinguishes DDA from other Authorities.
  • Develop content and distribute press releases, keynote speeches and promotional material in consultation with the supervisor.
  • Carry out research and advise management on the necessary changes that need to be undertaken to improve service delivery.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a degree in Mass communication or Honors Degree in Journalism or any other relevant Honors degree from a recognized University.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field is a must.
  • Post graduate qualification in Marketing is an added advantage.
  • At least six years of working experience of which three (3) are at senior level in a reputable Organization.
