About US:

Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is a semi-autonomous agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities. UWA was established in 1996 and is managed in accordance with the Wildlife Act Cap 200.

 

Job Summary:  The Warden Procurement will plan and implement the procurement process and disposal function of UWA in accordance with the PPDA Act.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compile procurement schedules and draw up item specifications from the different Departments and PAs in line with UWA Procurement guidelines.
  • Identify and contact suppliers, evaluate price quotations and recommend to management the supplier to be awarded contract in line with UWA’s Procurement guidelines.
  • Guide suppliers on correct procurement documentation
  • Monitor supplies of goods and services in line with the contract
  • Verify if the supplied items are in accordance with approved specifications
  • Participate in the preparation of draft bid documents
  • Prepare and update an approved list of providers and suppliers
  • Participate in the preparation of statutory procurement and disposal reports to PPDA.
  • Prepare reports on procurement and logistic support functions for management decisions in line with organizational requirements.
  • Liaise with accounts to facilitate timely payment to suppliers
  • Perform any other official duties as assigned by the supervisor.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant should possess an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement/Supply Chain Management from a recognized awarding University/Institution.
  • Professional qualification in Supply Chain Management (CIPS)
  • A post Graduate Diploma in Public Procurement Management from a recognized awarding Institution is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant working experience from a reputable Organization.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
