Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL) is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of two (2) sugar estates, one in Kakira – Jinja and the other in Kayunga.

 

Job Summary:  To create, develop, implement, and conduct training and development programs for employees.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assesses staff training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and staff representatives.
  • Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of on boarding, orientation, and skills development for employees.
  • Develops unique training programs to fulfil workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills
  • Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals. guides, and course materials. Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion online, virtual learning, lecture, simulations, and videos
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and refraining requirements.
  • Assesses training materials prepared by instructors.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments surveys, and feedback.
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development Prepares and implements training budget; maintains records and reports of expenses.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Recruiting Talent Sourcing:
  • Designs, develops, and executes full cycle recruitment plans and talent sourcing strategies that guarantee the attraction, selection, and successful recruitment of potential talents that will further drive the achievement of staffing goals as well as the business’s overall objectives. Develops and executes workforce plans, provides exceptional candidate experience, and builds and maintains a candidate pipeline through vast networking

Collaboration:

  • The Senior HR Business Partner also partners with stakeholders and business partners in ensuring that the best practices are being adopted, ensuring the delivery of projects as required as well as ensuring that key deliverables are met within the specified timelines. unions in order to facilitate a collaborative working practice and to keep in touch with state employment laws and practices.

Analytics:

  • Consistently develops and enforces HR procedures and policies.
  • Analyses and reports on KPIs and trends related to human capital in the business and uses these findings to develop strategies and solutions to issues that affect the business’s employee relations
  • Reports on all people metrics as necessary. Ensures budgetary compliance in the junior HR Business Partner department reporting monthly on the metrics and recommending necessary adjustments to senior management with a view of enhancing departmental performance.

Knowledge and Opportunity:

  • Maintains a clear and detailed knowledge of the industry trends, best practices, and labor legislation. This guarantees attraction and retention of valuable employees by guaranteeing efficient people management practices within the business leading to employee satisfaction.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Training and Development, or a related field required
  • At least two years of training experience required
  • Ensures that there is alignment between people management strategies and the existing business’s policies and procedures, updating each as required.
  • Works closely with HR Business Partner management in developing and applying changes to people management strategies, implementing a people cycle, and establishing recruitment and training programs
