Job Summary:  The Data Management Officer – KCCA will provide extra level of effort for both COVID-19 vaccination data management and analytics functions to KCCA’S COVID-19 Vaccination Situation Room and Division of Vaccines & Immunization.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Routine coordination of collection, aggregation, and dissemination of vaccination data at KCCA.
  • The Data Management Officer – KCCA will be tasked with mining, analysis data and presentation of the data in easy-to-navigate dashboards to promote use of data at Division and Central level to inform ongoing vaccine roll out program plans and inputs. These data will drive the weekly and bi-weekly coordination meetings.
  • Support the management of KCCA COVID-19 Vaccination information management systems including following up with and providing ongoing skills building technical support to users at division and facility level Support the roll out within KCCA of new innovations from MOH’S UNEP that are aimed at supporting COVID-19 vaccination as well other key interventions, e.g Smart Paper Technology (SPT), Immunization and Data Quality Apps, dashboards, among others
  • Provide technical support including troubleshooting, training of all HMIS users in close collaboration with the various development and implementing partners
  • Support monitoring the usage of the COVID-19 vaccination information management system and follow-up on any issues both on the dashboards generated and through field-based reports from partners and program station
  • Support the validation of Kampala data reported in the COVID-19 vaccination information management system through quality assurance mechanisms
  • Support the consolidation of data from the district across the different sources, as well as conduct required analytics and help the KCCA to generate appropriate presentations and visuals
  • Support the KCCA in coordinating and communication with divisions, in close collaboration with the MOH call center team and other identified call center agents
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Data Management Officer – KCCA must hold a basic degree relevant to the above functions: statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Epidemiology and postgraduate training in Monitoring and Evaluation. A bias in medical records management is an advantage..
  • At least five to seven years of work experience in public health program implementation Significant experience and or knowledge on the vaccination and immunization in Uganda including, related key monitoring indicators
  • Ability to work with and understand health data and health management information systems, including presentation of data in creative ways.
  • Excellent knowledge and application of both quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with Government of Uganda officials, other donors and partners
