We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well-supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism. UNV is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and reports to the UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Executive Board.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Under the overall supervision of the Country Representative and the direct supervision of Coordination Analyst, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

Support to the implementation of UN Women’s Strategic Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation Strategy 2021-2025

  • Manage and coordinate relationships with key partners;
  • Support to Programme units in drafting and packaging proposals and reports to donors;
  • Provide technical inputs to units efforts at the country level to develop new and innovative partnerships;
  • Develop and monitor annual priorities, goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for partnerships and resource mobilisation;
  • Design and implementation of effective advocacy strategies and methods for proactive and strategic targeting of partners and donors.
  • Support partnership and resource mobilization training to program staff, including the development of tools and products, as needed;

Participate in knowledge building and sharing and advocacy efforts

  • Contribute to the development of knowledge products and mechanisms to effectively position UN Women in Uganda;
  • Share knowledge and enhance organizational learning in UN Women through the development and use of on-line tools, templates, tips, mechanisms and guidelines;
  • Support Donor intelligence and monitor emerging issues that could impact on partnerships and resource contributions at the national or regional levels (risk management).

Support to UN Women’s Coordination mandate

  • Provide coordination support to programme units to UN Women’s work in the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), including supporting Co-Chair role in Human Rights and Gender Advisory Group (HRGAG) and Strategic Priority Area One, including minute taking and the writing of reports and issues papers as required;
  • Support to UN Women programme units in their engagements in coordination structures, both within the UNSDCF and Local Development Partners Group (LDPG) frameworks;
  • Assist with the implementation of the UNCT SWAP Scorecard Action Plan and Gender Parity Action Plan;
  • Facilitating administrative functions including contract preparations, agenda drafting and meeting set up.

 

Key Results/Expected Outputs

  • Tracked progress towards the implementation of the Strategic Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation Strategy 2021-2025
  • UN Women Gender Coordination mandate within the UN System and among development partners strengthened;
  • Identification and innovation to expand UN Women’s strategic partnerships
  • High quality knowledge products and programme proposals from programme units are produced
  • The development of capacity through coaching, mentoring and formal on-the-job training, when working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-) governmental counterparts, including Implementing Partners (IPs);
  • Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Strategic Partnerships, Coordination and Resource Mobilisation Officer should hold relevant qualifications
  • Three years of related work experience
  • Only French nationals are eligible to apply.
  • In addition to the requirements of the DOA, candidates must have obtained a Master II certificate.
  • Age: 27 – 35 years
