Job Summary:  The TTS business in Uganda has evolved  over the last 10 years  with diverse client product offerings and solutions coupled with growth in client names, customer assets and deposit.    This growth has necessitated the need of  a junior product manager to work with 2 product managers (Cash and Trade)  and the TTS  Country Head.  The Junior Product Manager will support and provide back-up to the cash  and trade product  managers and enable them to focus more of their time and effort on clients,  solutioning for client needs and exploring the market for opportunities that will spur exponential growth for the TTS business in Uganda. The role will report to the TTS Country Head.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute the implementation of onboarding of both buyers and suppliers for various Supplier Finance programs. This will require close interaction with implementation and relationship teams to so as to attain a seamless client on-boarding experience.
  • Support for Uganda TTS Head and Product Managers:

P&L reviews:

  • Tracking of financial performance metrics including collation of weekly/ monthly cash and trade flash/ outlook numbers (refined to sub-product level)
  • Collation of monthly financial performance summaries for the country
  • Drive expense reduction and monitoring initiatives

Key support in the annual plan process – assist in developing a consolidated view of the country targets and reporting

  • Preparation, analysis and distribution of monthly business drivers reports, i.e. movement in customer deposits and assets, pool rates, NIM, payments and collections volumes. Work with product and relationship managers to identify trends and action on areas of opportunity.
  • Governance support: Co-ordination and collation of inputs for Country and E.A sub-cluster ManCom/CCC/BRCC/In-Business Risk and other governance meetings.

Business and Strategy Management:

  • Support in the delivery of business inputs for business review meetings both scheduled and ad hoc
  • Tracking of strategic priorities for the country/sub-cluster
  • Preparation of presentation materials and coordination of TTS events and sessions as may be required
  • Third Party Management: Support the Business Activity Owners with the Third Party Management process. This will include among others, controls and gap monitoring,  managing the vendor due diligence processes, setting up monthly vendor performance review meetings, preparation of meeting minutes and tracking of action items.
  • Support the rollout of Security Manager, Citi Payments Insight, CPOD and other service tools and provide weekly and monthly progress reporting based on the country’s conversion target.
  • Support the TTS Records Management Officer with the records inventory updates, records archival and destruction.
  • Engage in TTS product related areas including product development, sales-related activities, client experience, commercialization and other risk & control items
  • Coordinate and prepare decks for departmental weekly business and risk review meeting, prepare minutes and tracking of action items.
  • Preparing ad hoc billing templates for services provided to customers e.g. Safeword card, Consular billing, CIT and Teller Implants.
  • Coordinate the SIRR, GDR, NPAC, AML NPA, PAPs and Capability grid review process in liaison with the Cash and Trade product managers.
  • Support the Product Managers in driving sales for market segments assigned in line with the penetration strategy of the TTS Cash and Trade business.
  • Managing TTS overdrafts in line with TOD policy following the migration of ODs from CPM and Cash to Trade while ensuring minimal customer impact.
  • Conduct regular customer repricing reviews in coordination with the product managers.
  • Spearhead digitization and use of automated systems in support of trade services instruments and trade finance transactions
  • Training both Citi’s clients and Citi staff (product stakeholders) on existing and new products and solutions to ensure continuous awareness and effectiveness of execution
  • Deal pipeline review to track closure – deal origination, wins and implementation
  • Establish and maintain communications with Operations & Technology, Banking and customers to support the enhancement of sales knowledge, current issues and developments and effective delivery of cash and trade products
  • Knowledge of digital disruption trends affecting the Cash and Trade business, and able to drive strategy accordingly, including building partnerships with fintechs as may be necessary.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Graduate / Postgraduate qualification are an added advantage
  • Basic understanding of Cash and Trade Products
  • Budget and planning, implementation, monitoring and control
  • Understanding of the Ugandan market and requisite regulation.
  • Understanding of Risk management.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to lead initiatives across diverse and dynamic environment and with different stakeholders
  • Ability to develop creative and innovative solutions
  • Able to take a concept through to execution
