Job Title:   Geotechnical Investigation Engineer

Organisation: Sinopec (Uganda)

Duty Station: Initially start from Kampala Office and mainly on project sites (Buliisa & Nwoya)

On-boarding Date: 1 May, 2022

Sinopec Service is engaged in the provision of all project phases service for various sectors, including oil & gas, power, buildings, roads and bridges etc. We are looking for Construction and Project support personnel.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review project geotechnical reports (onshore and offshore), and soil, underground water, lake water etc. test results.
  • Provide professional advice to engineering and construction functions.
  • Assist in site survey and/or supplementary survey.
  • Assist in GIS handover and 3D model design.
  • Support site construction.

 




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar position.
  • Proficient in reading survey report and providing solutions in relation with geotechnical issues.
  • Familiar with geotechnical investigation of well site, O&G pipeline and lake area.
  • Familiar with BS 5930:2015, ASTM D1586 and other international survey codes.
  • Familiar with the engineering geology of Uganda.
  • Successful candidates with relevant experience and recognized expertise in large onshore/offshore oil and gas EPC projects will be preferred.
  • The working environment is multicultural and demands considerable experience in the project process working with International Clients and Contractors.
  • Strong communication skills, fluent spoken and written English, and Chinese competency will be a plus.
