Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare accurate and timely local regulatory reports to Bank of Uganda and Uganda Revenue Authority
  • Responsible for corporate reporting in liaison with COE Manila to ensure correct reporting requirements. This includes preparation and submission of Condi, GARS, Qmemo, TMemo, Cashflow and CER.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Responsible for quarterly tax forecast, Annual Fincon package, Annual Tax and Fixed assets packages.
  • Liaison with external auditors and Bank of Uganda Inspectors.
  • Tracking of corrective actions for MCA process and external audits.
  • Involvement with major issues in the various businesses in the country that could give rise to regulatory concerns or franchise risks
  • Prepare Tax returns and ensure timely filing with the Uganda Revenue Authority
  • Manage the Balance Sheet proofing process
  • Act as back up to the CFO




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a 1st Degree preferably in a business related field (An MBA would be of added advantage)
  • Must be a qualified Accountant
  • At least five years of accounting experience preferably in a reputable financial Institution and/or Accounting Firm
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Deep working knowledge of IFRS
  • Awareness of the Tax Act, Companies Act, BOU prudential guidelines and FI Act 2004
  • Strong proficiency in excel
