Malteser International has been implementing projects in Uganda for over two decades focusing mainly on health and nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene, livelihood and environment.

 

Job Summary:  As Project Assistant you will support the administration and implementation of project activities in compliance with MI policies and guidelines. You will report directly to the Project Manager and have technical reporting lines to the Programme Coordinator where applicable.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the project team in identifying specifications and raising procurement requests for medical equipment and supplies for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) project
  • Coordinate logistics for execution of project activities both internally and externally to ensure timely procurement of supplies for the project and its partners
  • Assist the project team in developing Terms of References (ToRs) /concept notes for project activities
  • Communicate with stakeholders within directives issued by the project and/ or line-managers
  • Organize meetings, trainings, and workshops with project stakeholders
  • Support partners in trainings and write reports after trainings
  • Assist the project team in documenting regular updates on the processes undertaken in developing national guidelines, standards and policies related to EMS
  • Develop a documentation system for equipment donated to partners and monitor their functionality and usage on a regular basis





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a degree in public health; a diploma in a medical related field would be an added advantage
  • At least three years’ experience in a similar position with a good understanding of INGO procedures
  • Knowledge in Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
