Job Summary:  The Business Transformation Officer (Digital
Solutions) will perform activities and analytical work of limited complexity
supporting several business areas and maintaining contacts with business
counterparts to bring business requests into IT. They use their limited
technical knowledge and experience to assist in gathering and analysing
business needs, and supporting solution delivery. Job holders are likely to be
working under the supervision of a more experienced staff member, receiving
guidance and regular feedback on work performed.


Job Purpose: To
Partner with the business to understand their requests and operating
environment in order to contribute to the transformation of business
requirements into solutions exploiting IT capabilities and focusing on business
satisfaction. This staff will be the IT unit’s focal point in providing digital
solutions to the CO across all spectrum of activities  in order to fulfill the objectives of the
country strategic plan.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The ideal
candidate for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Business
Transformation Officer (Digital Solutions) job vacancy must hold an advanced
degree or a first degree with 5 years of related work experience in Computer
Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering
Communication, Sociology, Digital/Product Design or other

At least
three years’ experience: deploying Information Management Systems like Identity
and Benefits Management systems, or, developing database software solutions,
or, integrating data analysis systems.

analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to analyze and report on
research findings and draw actionable conclusions.

with data management tools like (Server-side – Python: Django/Flask/Pyramid,
PHP: Zend Framework, Front-end – React, Content Management – Drupal, Databases:
MariaDB/MySQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, DevOps – Docker, or similar is an added

drawing actionable insights from data analytics; comfortable using data
analysis software (e.g. Tableau, MS Excel, Microsoft Power BI, SPSS etc.) to

Strategy and Architecture
Shares knowledge of IT governance process and system architecture development
with team and analyses current designs for improvements and enhancements while
ensuring compliance with legislation and specifies any required changes.

Implementation, Project Management, Planning and Optimization:
Utilises working knowledge of project and
change management approaches to collect and analyse relevant data from multiple
stakeholders to develop evidence-based business case for change.

Continuously updates
one’s own knowledge about new technologies and product modifications; Is sought
out for advice/expertise and recognized internally as an important technical

Definition & Management:
thorough understanding of business areas and processes to define, prioritize
and customize IT infrastructure solutions to requirements.

Account Management:
open communication and discussion with clients to assess and promote
understanding of need for future changes in services, products and systems,
resulting in overall client satisfaction.

Has in-depth
understanding of operational requirements, business issues and opportunities to
conduct stakeholder and benefit analysis of options to identify effective and
optimal automated/ non-automated solutions that meet business needs.
