financial support to Parastatals, Corporates, Small and Medium Enterprises,
Individuals, and Non-Governmental Organisations.

Job Summary:  The Internal Auditor will provide assurance to
the Board, Management and other stakeholders that Risk Management, Controls and
Governance processes are working as intended for the achievement of bank
objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Conduct periodic reviews of all functional and operational audits
  (departments, processes and branches) as stipulated in the annual audit
  plan and give assurance on the governance, controls and risk management
  structures and processes.
• Prepare an audit file and ensure all working papers (evidence) is
  obtained to support all findings.
• Prepare audit reports and provide practical suggestions
  (recommendations) to management for addressing control weaknesses
  identified across the bank.
• Carry out follow ups on Bank of Uganda, external audit and internal
  audit recommendations to be included in the quarterly board papers.
• Carry out snap checks as allocated.
• Timely review Bank of Uganda returns and ensure compliance to the
  regulations. Prepare a monthly returns error report for the returns
  reviewed.
• Participate in the preparation of the annual work plan by carrying
  out risk assessments.
• Proactive follow up on high risk areas noted in the course of
  executions and ensure they are closed.
• Carry out fraud investigations as assigned from time to time.
• Carry out Continuous Controls monitoring activities as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

• The ideal applicant for the Tropical Bank Limited Internal Auditor
  job placement must hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business related
  courses
• At least Part 1 ACCA/CPA. Experience;
• One year of experience in Internal Auditing or banking or external
  auditing
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Objectivity (Ability to stay unbiased)
• Confidentiality (Ability to keep information confidential)

• Analytical skills
• Creative and innovative thinking
