social enterprise working with communities, government, and civil society
organisations to find and demonstrate solutions to poverty and environmental
issues. Our team includes both local and international experts with
professional capabilities ranging from engineering to social science.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Training community water and sanitation committees and introducing
    preventive maintenance services of water sources in rural communities
  • Training and working together with, district and sub-county
    officials in developing a public private partnership that promotes
    Government mobilization for preventive maintenance Overseeing technical
    work of local preventive maintenance technicians
  • Ensuring compliance to local laws with support from the relevant
    stakeholders
  • Assist communities with tariff collection and development of
    community water VSLAS
  • Manage financial and administrative tasks with integrity and
    efficiency including managing community committees and pump attendants in
    the collection and management of revenue Prepare and submit activity and
    progress reports to ensure informed decision making
  • Ensure co-ordination and engagement of multi-actors and stakeholders
    for Sustainable water systems Any other duties as assigned from time to
    time from your line manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The Whave Service Officers should hold Degree level qualifications
    in Water Environmental Biosystems Engineering Public Health Sciences,
    Social Sciences Business Administration Development Studios Adult and
    Community Education, Social Work Social Administration or a related field
  • Good numerical and Business skills is a must
  • Previous experience and understanding of community development and
    local government structures in Uganda of at least 2 years
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills and a persuasive
  • character
  • Adequate computer skills such as knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Ability to ride a motorbike is a MUST Language
  • Good knowledge of Luganda language is a MUST
