Job Summary:    The Psychosocial Counsellor will work as a
process-oriented person to ARC’s MHPSS and GBV Program in Kyangwali /BidiBidi
refugee settlement to achieve the related outcomes/ outputs within the program
sites. The incumbent will be responsible for providing the day-to-day
psychological support to beneficiaries as well as providing specialized
counseling support to people faced with challenges relating to Gender Based Violence
and mental health and psychosocial. He/she is required to also provide
preventive services including information to the general community in line with
MHPSS and GBV.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the American Refugee Committee (ARC
    International) Psychosocial Counselor job must hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in Social Sciences, Community Psychology, and/or Social Work;
  • Possess Certification in Counseling.
  • Two years of working experience in providing psychosocial & SGBV
    counseling in a refugee context.
  • Comprehensive case management and documentation plus presentation
    skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Language skills of populations that ARC serves with Kiswahili as a
    Must. (e.g. Kinyarwanda, Kinyabwisha, Arabic, etc.)
  • Hold a valid riding license.
