lives, fully supported by those around them. Our programming focuses on three
core areas: youth sexual and reproductive health and rights, youth civic
participation and youth employment and livelihoods.

About DYNAMIC Programme:

The Driving
Youth-led New Agribusiness and Microenterprise (DYNAMIC) programme is a five
(5) year programme funded by the MasterCard Foundation and is implemented by
consortium of INGOs in Uganda including GOAL (Lead Agency), Mercy Corps, VSO
and Restless Development and is currently in its fourth year of implantation.
The DYNAMIC Programme will strengthen systems and facilitate the creation of
sustainable economic opportunities for disadvantaged Ugandan youth. DYNAMIC’s
overall goal is to increase the number of young people who are in secure
employment or self-employment and to promote effective and efficient
agricultural market systems for youth. Through a market-driven and holistic
approach, DYNAMIC will engage an array of public and private sector actors to
increase access to goods, services, markets, information and productive and
social assets to increase productivity of Ugandan agribusinesses and non-farm enterprises.
DYNAMIC will reach 125,000 out-of-school youth aged 15 – 24 living in
peri-urban and rural communities in northern Uganda and Karamoja sub-region.

Job Summary:  The Youth Engagement Assistants will support
the youth engagement officers in the implementation of DYNAMIC youth engagement
activities which uses peer education model to reach out to youth out of school
with non-formal skills training blended with farming technical skills and
linkages to agribusiness opportunities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

Peer educator
Management

  • Work alongside Youth Engagement officers
    to recruit, train and place PEs in the community
  • Support in coaching and mentoring of PEs
    in the community
  • Ensure peer educators adhere to the
    provided policies and procedures governing the DYNAMIC Programme
  • Mediate between the volunteers and
    communities, when and if communication or programme related problems occur
  • Support the establishment and
    maintenance of relationships with target communities and PEs
  • Ensure regular engagement of youth
    groups with community structures and agribusiness companies.

Data Management

  • Collecting data ranging from YES forms,
    youth group attendance list and manual coverage information from PE
    groups.
  • Preparing and sorting documents for data
    entry.
  • Resolving discrepancies in information
    and obtaining further information for incomplete document.
  • Maintain and update workflow records of
    PEs
  • Responding to information request from
    authorized staff members
  • Entering data into database and checking
    to ensure the accuracy of data that has been inputted.
  • You may occasionally / will regularly be
    required to work on weekends and/or public holidays, for which time off in
    lieu will be granted
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The Restless Development Youth
    Engagement Assistant job should preferably possess or be in pursuit of a
    college degree, preferably a Bachelor’s, in a relevant field of study,
    such as, Education, Youth Development, Social works, development studies,
    Agriculture.
  • You should have some experience working
    with, coaching, or mentoring youth, ages 14-24
  • You are reliable, flexible, and
    accountable for your actions
  • You have good organizational skills, and
    have a working knowledge of useful office tools such as excel, google
    docs, word processors.

Desirable

  • You are a self-starter, and have a high
    level of self-motivation, with excellent time management, and documentation
    skills
  • You are outgoing, and are willing to
    interpret life skills and other social concepts in both a classroom
    setting, as well as with the public in the community.
  • You have great verbal and written
    communication skills..
