University Research
Co., LLC (URC), a US-based public health organization working in Uganda since
2005, implements the RHITES-N, Acholi Activity whose key objective is to build
on USAID investments and national advances to increase access to and use of
high-quality integrated services that accelerate the ability and capacity to
respond to the specific health needs of the residents in the Acholi Region. The
project is supporting the 8 districts of Acholi sub-region to develop capacity
of Districts through proven best practices across priority services of
integrated HIV care and Treatment, TB, Malaria, MNCH, RHFP, Nutrition and WASH;
and support the Ministry of Health at National level and spread the best
practices from the Acholi region across the country.

The USAID RHITES-N,
Acholi Activity is providing quality improvement technical assistance to the
ministry of health in the implementation of the national Quality Improvement
(QI) initiative aimed at improving viral load suppression, early retention in
care and Isoniazid Preventive Therapy (IPT) scale up.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Attend a training in evaluation procedures and tools
  • Pretest the data collection tools
  • Conduct interviews
  • Review and extract data from medical records at the health
    facilities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicants for the USAID RHITES-N Project Quantitative Data
    Collector job should hold a Degree in medicine, Bio-statistics,
    Epidemiology, Demography, Public Health or diploma or equivalent in a
    clinical discipline.  A Master’s
    degree in any of the above is an added advantage
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ of practical experience in collecting
    and analyzing qualitative data in one or more of the following areas:
    quality improvement, any health area eg HIV, service utilization, client
    service satisfaction, health facility assessment
  • Experience in working effectively
  • Demonstrated previous analysis of quantitative data, covering health
    and policy areas;
  • Maturity and professional ability to execute tasks with minimum
    supervision and short timelines
  • Ability to work within short deadlines and data quality standards;
  • Knowledge of Excel, SPSS and Stata software is an added advantage
