(WHH), founded in 1962, is today one of the biggest Non-Governmental Aid and
development agencies in Germany. We campaign against worldwide hunger and for
sustainable food and nutrition security by promoting site-appropriate farming,
establishing access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene, improving
healthcare and education for people living in rural areas as well as promoting
skills development for youth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Guides local partner organizations on all skills development related
    issues
  • Supports curriculum development and training processes
  • Monitors life skills, entrepreneurship and technical skills training
    and skills upgrading processes
  • Advises local partner organizations on internship and job placements
    for trainees
  • Coordinates and exchanges with relevant actors in the vocational
    skills training sector at regional and national level
  • Ensures alignment of the project implementation with the Ugandan
    country strategy of Welthungerhilfe in the Skills Development sector
  • Expands Welthungerhilfe network with relevant stakeholders from
    civil society, government and development partners within the Skills
    Development sector
  • Represents Welthungerhilfe at sector related working groups on
    national level

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Welthungerhilfe (WHH) Skills and
    Capacity Building Officer job placement should preferably hold a
    Bachelor’s / MSc in Education or Social Sciences
  • Skills Development context
  • A minimum of five years of proven experience of Skills Development
    project implementation, preferably with international organizations
  • Proven knowledge in non-formal vocational skills training (planning,
    organizing, advising and monitoring)
  • Proven experience in working with partner organizations
  • Experience to work with the private sector
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge in English (spoken and written)
  • Capacity to multi task and coordinate activities under pressure in
    urban and rural areas respectively
  • Knowledge of MEAL is an added advantage
