About MaNe Project:
Population Services
International (PSI) Uganda will implement the Maternal and Newborn
(MaNe)-Kampala Slum Project in partnership with Kampala Capital City Authority
and Makerere University School of Public Health. The objectives of this project
are to:-
  • Empower the urban poor pregnant mother to be able to recognize
    illness and make timely decision to seek care for herself and her baby;
  • Ensure that the quality care she needs is accessible by harnessing
    and collaborating with the widely available private providers and
  • Improve referral linkage between primary level facilities and the
    referral hospitals so that poor mothers and newborns can get timely and
    effective emergency care.
Job Summary:   The Social Franchise Coordinator will be
responsible for implementation of MaNe project facility level strategies and
activities with the goal of increasing demand for Maternal and Newborn services
and growing the business performance of the project facilities. He/She will
provide marketing support and business advisory services to build sustainable
private health facilities offering Maternal and newborn services. The SFC will
work cross-functionally within project facilities to maximize effectiveness and
outcomes, and works closely with multiple stakeholders to understand and
effectively execute franchise strategy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Coordinate,
follow up and ensure execution of all project activities at project facilities
(especially the private) and liaison with the SBCC coordinator to develop
sustainable demand interventions.
·        
Liaise
with the SBCC coordinator to test and refine demand generation interventions
based on evaluation and learning evidence.
·        
This
position will also be responsible for the MoU or contract management with all
project facilities especially the private health facilities.
·        
Development
of communication and knowledge management approaches for project facilities.
·        
Support
teams to ensure that the improved Business Systems Value Proposition Pillar is
rolled out as well as ensuring that monthly analytics and reports are with
project stakeholders and the wider team.
·        
Coordinate
capability development interventions for the different franchise partners and
staff members.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·        
The
ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields e.g.
humanities, finance, public administration or health.
·        
Three years
of experience working at a supervisory level
·        
Background
in Social Franchise and project coordination role.
·        
Broad
knowledge and understanding of local healthcare and small and medium
enterprises systems is a plus
·        
Experience
in social marketing/franchising an added advantage
·        
Influencing/Negotiation
skills: Ability to understand both internal and customer perspectives so as to
be able to build a win-win strategy for financial and value- based negotiation.
