About US:
The National Drug
Authority (NDA) is an autonomous body which was established by the National
Drug Policy and Authority Act Cap 206 , Laws of Uganda (2000 Edition) to
regulate Human and Veterinary Medicines and other healthcare products. 
NDA’s mandate is to ensure quality, safety and efficacy of human and veterinary
medicines and other healthcare products through the regulation and control of
their production, importation, distribution and use.
Job Summary:  The Administrative Assistant will provide
administrative and Coordination support to the Directorate of Product Safety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Tasked with the development and maintenance of the Directorate
    databases including safety information databases for Adverse Drug
    Reactions (ADRs) and Serious Adverse Events (SAEs).
  • Carryout technical screening of all applications and submissions to
    ensure they are complete and where additional documentation/information is
    necessary, officially notify the applicants to this effect.
  • Draft letters and other communication from the Directorate to other
    offices internally and to clients and stakeholders.
  • Organize meeting rooms, equipment and other requirements for
    internal and/or external meetings with clients and stakeholders
  • Minute-taking during Directorate and individual unit meetings
    including meetings with clients
  • Route all documents going to the Secretary to the Authority and
    other offices accordingly.
  • Manage all equipment and ensure that they are in good working
    condition.
  • Provide administrative support to the Directorate ensuring coverage
    at all times.
  • Respond to phone calls and front desk inquiries directed to the
    Directorate.
  • Undertake any other official duties assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the National Drug Authority (NDA)
    Administrative Assistant job must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy/Dispensing or
    Clinical Medicine from a recognized Institution
  • At least two years of working experience in a related job in a
    reputable organization.
  • Data Management skills
  • Proficiency in ICT including Standard Microsoft Office Applications
  • High sense of integrity and professionalism.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • A strong team player.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
