social Justice, gender equality, and poverty eradication by working with people
living in extreme poverty and exclusion, their communities, people’s
organisations, activists, social movements and their supporters.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide back up support to the Fundraising team during the launch of
    the solidarity fundraising initiative – including planning, logistics
    on-the-day and post event follow up processes.
  • Support the team in providing a high standard of customer care;
    including receiving and responding to fundraising enquiries.
  • Work closely with the Fundraising team to prepare and send accurate
    and engaging supporter communications.
  • Support the team with overall set up and maintenance of the local
    supporter database, ensuring accurate data inputting.
  • Contribute to development of local fundraising policy/guidelines
  • Participate in Fundraising meetings/events with potential supporters
  • Prepare and share Fundraising reports with relevant officers
  • Make follow-up telephone calls to potential sponsors.
  • Attend and contribute to Fundraising meetings with the team.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the ActionAid Fundraising Graduate Trainee job
    placement must hold a University Degree SPECIFICALLY in Marketing and
    Sales; Business Administration, or Mass Communication from a recognized
    institution; any post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
  • Excellent Communication skills;
  • Good telephone etiquette;
  • Good report writing skills
  • Analytical skills; Resource mobilization;
  • Strong commitment to develop, promote and practice ActionAid vision,
    mission, values and strategies; working with Databases
  • Understanding of the corporate and philanthropy sector in Uganda,
    with at least 1 year of relevant working experience from a recognized
    institution, preferably an NGO.
