Job Summary: The
Senior Accountant is responsible for Performing Financial Accounting oversight
and controls, Preparing and or reviewing financial accounting analyses;
Budgeting, researching and resolving accounting reconciliations variances;
supporting data requests for Corporate and external/internal audits; and any
other ad hoc projects to support KMC business operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Management
- Establish tables of accounts, and assign entries to proper accounts.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and
accounting systems, making use of current computer technology. - Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel,
and direct their work activities. - Appraise, evaluate, and inventory real property and equipment,
recording information such as the property’s description, value, and
location.
Analysis and Advice
- Keenly analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues,
financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and
expenses or to provide advice. - Work as Internal Revenue Service agents.
- Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax
strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts. - Investigate bankruptcies and other complex financial transactions
and prepare reports summarizing the findings. - Serve as bankruptcy trustees and business valuators.

- Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial
statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness,
and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. - Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
- Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, preparing periodic reports
that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
Compliance:
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with
payment, reporting and other tax requirements. - Provide internal and external auditing services for businesses and
individuals. - Maintain and examine the records of government agencies.

- Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend,
develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems. - Advise clients in areas such as compensation, employee health care
benefits, the design of accounting and data processing systems, and
long-range tax and estate plans. - Represent clients before taxing authorities and provide support
during litigation involving financial issues. - Perform any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Kiira Motors Senior Accountant job should
preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Commerce, Business
Administration, Business Studies, Finance, Accounting or in a related field from a recognized institution; - Member of a Recognized Accounting Professional Body (ACCA, CPA,
CIMA, ICMA, CFA Institute); and - Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Related Field
is an Added Advantage. - A minimum of four years of working experience of at least Four (4)
years; Two (2) of which should have been Served as an Accountant in a
Reputable Organization with Current Generation Knowledge of IFRS, Uganda
Tax Legislations, PFMA 2015, Company Act 2012 and other Applicable Laws.
