comprehensive port and integrated inland service networks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure proper coordination of all container activities in the Main
    Yard, for both full and empty containers.
  • Be responsible for and manage machinery maintenance and servicing
    reports.
  • Be responsible for supervising machine Operators and Company
    mechanic, ensuring that they all deliver as expected on their KPIs
  • Be responsible for maintaining a weekly machine operators’ rota
  • Ensure all machinery breakdown is communicated timely to management
    and customers
  • Ensure a man-free depot is maintained
  • Ensure depot is properly planned and arranged according to the
    different accounts handled.
  • Ensure safe practices are adhered to at all times and intervene in
    cases where safety is not enforced.
  • Provide daily reports for containers handled at the Main yard, both
    full and empty.
  • Ensure ownership of equipment management, both for full and empty
    equipment.
  • Ensure all housekeeping moves are accurately recorded daily and a
    daily report maintained.
  • Filling in for the Barrier staff during the times they are off work
  • Ensure all mail is responded to promptly, there should be no
    reminders sent
  • Any other duties assigned by the Operations Supervisor from time to
    time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Yard Planner should preferably be a male fresh graduate
  • Ability to speak English, Luganda and Swahili. 
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision (self-driven), are
    time-conscious, are team players and can handle pressure.
