is a registered Christian Non Governmental Organization
(NGO) which
specialises in the rescue, rehabilitation, reconciliation, resettlement and
follow-up of children living on the streets. The overall objective of DP is to
have a society where every child has a chest to rest their head on and a place
to call home.
Job Summary: The Dwell Plus Manager will be responsible for overseeing the
development, implementation, planning, execution and completion of Dwelling
Places income-generating and development projects, as well as mentoring and
Managing Dwell Plus staff and volunteers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
Business Development and Planning
  • Identify and participate in fund raising
    opportunities and self-sustainability projects for clients & Dwell
    Plus
    .
  • Management of the Income Generating
    Projects and  the Capital Development Projects by developing,
    implementing, changing, or amending these projects
  • Track and analyze project expenses to
    ensure effectiveness and efficiency
  • Assist with development of Dwell Plus
    workplan and budgets budgets
  • Coordinate all the Dwell Plus meetings
  • Prepare a variety of monthly reports on
    activities & operations gather statistical data as needed or requested
    .
  • Develop a rapport with new clients, and
    set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve
    their relationship with Dwelling Places.
  • Research, identify and build
    relationships with new clients to turn this into increased business for
    Dwell Plus
    .
  • Use knowledge of the market and
    competitors, identify and develop the Organisation’s unique selling
    propositions and differentiators.
  • Locate or propose potential business
    deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring
    opportunities.
  • Screen potential business deals by
    analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials;
    evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity
    investments for Dwell Plus
  • Close new business deals by coordinating
    requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract
    requirements with business operations.
  • Protect Dwell Plus’/ organization’s
    value by keeping information confidential.
  • Enhance organizational/Dwell Plus’
    reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different
    requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Monitor and evaluate Dwell Plus projects
    for sustainability
Client Retention
  • Present new products and services while
    enhancing existing relationships.
  • Work closely with technical staff and
    other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and
    external client debriefs.
Management and Research
  • Supervise, manage and  develop the
    Dwell Plus staff & volunteers
  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by
    researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements;
    tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they
    are met by the Dwellus team.
  • Track and record activity on accounts
    and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Work closely with Junior staff to ensure
    that prerequisites like requisitions are fulfilled within a timely manner.
  • Ensure all team members represent the
    Organisation in the best light.
  • Present business development trainings
    and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff and
    volunteers
  • Research and develop a thorough
    understanding of the Organisation’s people and capabilities especially
    those working under Dwell Plus
  • Understand the Organisation’s goal and
    purpose to continue enhancing the enterprise’s performance 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Dwelling Places
    Dwell Plus Manager job should possess a University degree in Project
    Planning and management, Business Administration or related field of
    study.
  • At least three to five years of
    financial and business management experience
  • Relevant experience in non-profit
    project fundraising
  • Managerial experience with progressive
    responsibilities
  • Other combinations of experience and education
    that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted
  • Financial and business management skills
  • Ability to analyze projects, identify
    alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and
    implement programs in support of the Dwell Plus goals
  • Strong self-starter
  • Ability to monitor and produce projects’
    progress reports.
  • Strong written and oral communication
    skills as well as the ability to communicate clear instructions to others
    through supervision and management
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and time-management
    skills; multi-tasker
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong initiative & ability to work
    independently in developing new projects & sustaining existing
    projects
  • Demonstrated experience with budget
    management and timelines
  • Thorough knowledge of the market, the
    solutions/services the Organisation can provide, and of the Organisation’s
    competitors.
  • Financial
    and business management skills
