Raising The Village
works with hard to reach “last-mile” villages in Uganda. RTV tackles extreme
poverty by eliminating immediate barriers of scarcity, nurturing income
generation activities and building local credit and capacity to move
communities toward economic self-sufficiency. Through a multi-faceted,
community-prioritized methodology, RTV catalyzes entire villages during its
6-month implementation. Currently with 3 offices and over 30 staff in Uganda,
RTV is on a growth trajectory to transform development practice in “last mile”
villages. In 2017, we directly impacted over 36,000 beneficiaries across 47
villages.
Job Summary: The
Planning and Evaluation Officer supports the cluster implementation through the
collection of baseline, and on-going data of Household and Community progress
to help provide insights to the Lead Officer on project
progress, risks and issues, and identify additional opportunities to further
benefit the community. They also serve as support in the implementation of
activities including Planning, Design, Monitoring and Evaluation, Reporting
Analysis, Data Management and Performance Analysis and other duties as assigned
by management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate
should have 3 years of work experience in monitoring & evaluation of
development programs, and a demonstrated long-term passion for community
development as well as
  • Fluent in local languages
    (Lufumbira/Lukiga)
  • University degree in Statistics, Social
    Sciences, Development Studies. Post graduate  diploma in Monitoring
    & Evaluation and Project Planning an added advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of Management
    Information Systems (MIS), M&E and Development issues.
  • Excellent knowledge of monitoring and
    the application of methodology
  • Excellent knowledge of monitoring
    methodologies and ability to apply theory into practice
    .
  • Strong oral and written communication
    skills 
  • Ability to take on 
    Leadership roles
    .
  • Advanced Experience with Microsoft Suite,
    specifically Excel
  • Previous work experience at community
    levels, project management in village settings would be considered a
    strong asset.
  • Experience in income generating
    activities especially within agriculture and livestock focus areas would
    also be considered an asset
  • Energetic and physically able to hike on
    high terrain for long durations.
  • Must be willing and able  to 
    travel 80% of time
