Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Participate in the development and
    implementation of supply chain plans and procedures, in line with the
    global supply chain strategy of our client and regional/functional
    strategies, policies and plans, to achieve operational cost efficiency,
    agility, reliability, quality and to support national capacity
    strengthening.
  • Remaining abreast of our client’s
    operational issues, in particular in Uganda operation as well as
    neighbouring countries;
  • Support strategic and operational decision-making
    by processing and analysing data and information and presenting it in
    user-friendly formats (e.g. reports, maps), utilizing the latest data
    visualization and mapping technologies.
  • Identifying and prioritising issues for
    inclusion in regular system-wide operational reporting;
  • Is available and willing to deploy to
    countries in the region and outside, sometimes on long-term, to provide
    Information Management mission support, including in complex emergency
    settings.
Team management: Managing small teams of junior staff
Project reporting: Submit reports to the Head of the supply
chain officer
  • Perform other duties as may be requested
    by Uganda Logistics unit .
Key Result Areas:
  • Summarising information and developing
    supporting graphics to produce periodical operational reports;
  • Reviews and ensures the processing and
    timely dissemination of integrated reports (including daily and weekly
    situation reports) within the country offices
  • Build productive partnerships and
    collaborate with counterparts in the key supply chain functions to ensure
    an integrated supply chain approach to food assistance and
    cross-functional operational alignment.
  • Manage accurate and timely reporting
    including provision of substantial analysis of supply chain activities and
    trends to enable informed decision-making and consistency of information
    presented to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Contribute to preparedness actions,
    providing technical recommendations and guidance and monitoring the
    management of specific supply chain risks to enable our client,
    governments and other partners to quickly respond and deploy food and
    resources at the onset of the crisis.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should preferably hold a
    Master’s degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information
    Management or Business Management, Social Sciences or other relevant field
    and/or Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics,
    Information Management or Business Management, Social Sciences or other
    relevant field with additional years of related work experience and/or
    training/courses..
  • At least five years of demonstrable
    relevant Management Consultancy experience.
  • Five years of experience in Africa with
    local experience in Uganda is an advantage.
  • Typically, five years or more of
    postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a
    background and interest in international humanitarian development.
  • Sound theoretical understanding of
    information management concepts and principals with a broad knowledge of
    best practices, techniques and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability
    to analyse and interpret information and draw out the key messages.
  • Strong oral and written communication
    skills, able to clearly articulate insights to stakeholders with our
    client.
  • Knowledge of common business principals
    and processes and the ability to quickly assimilate our client’s specific
    processes and systems;
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of the
    multilateral/interagency environment and the dynamics in which our client
    operates which influences approach to working, policy development and
    decision making.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop
    small teams of junior staff.
  • Fluency in English is essential.  a second official UN language: Arabic,
    Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or working language, Portuguese.
