CRS has worked in Uganda since 1965, initially providing emergency assistance
to Sudanese refugees living in the north. Over the years, CRS has expanded its
programming to also address development needs in western, central and eastern
Uganda. CRS’ projects in Uganda currently include agricultural livelihoods,
health and social services and emergency response and recovery. CRS implements
its programs through partnerships with local organizations, including the
Catholic Church, other faith-based organizations and community entities for
maximum impact and sustainability.
Job Summary: The Logistics
& Warehouse Assistant will be responsible to support operation of CRS
warehouse management in Yumbe according to program needs.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • To supervise the goods loading/unloading
    that includes relief supplies and construction materials.
  • To maintain all official and original
    records of the goods for audit and reporting purposes.
  • To supervise warehouse store-keeper,
    warehouse guards, if any.
  • To ensure timely Receiving and Deliveries
    of goods for Programming.
  • To facilitate timely transportation and
    Deliveries from CRS Warehouses to Field.
  • To ensure proper Stacking and Filing of
    Goods Receive Note (GRN), General Ledger, Good Delivery Note (GDN),
    monthly inventory forms and waybill, etc.
  • Support the Logistics Officer to timely
    Report and Update Electronic and Physical Stock register.
  • To assist the Logistics Officer to ensure
    Warehouse physical inventory counting at the end of every month.
  • Support the Logistics Officer to maintain
    and improve system, which are required for standard storage and logistics
    practices
  • Ensure security and safety requirements of
    the Warehouse and commodities stored are in place.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the
    management from time to time.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Catholic
    Relief Services (CRS) Logistics and Warehouse Assistant job placement
    should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or other
    relevant degree
  • At least two years of experience in supply
    chain / warehousing, transportation/logistics preferably with an
    international organization.
  • Demonstrated qualities of oral and written
    communication skills, culturally sensitivity and ability to work with
    people from diverse background.
  • Computer literate, i.e. familiar with MS
    Word and Excel.
  • Required experience working in West Nile
    sub-region, Yumbe district preferred.
  • Proven ability to build/work in a team and
    to manage and motivate personnel drawing on individual skills to advance
    agendas and problem solving.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Effective inter-personal skills and
    consensus-building.
  • Demonstrated experience of integrity and
    professionalism.
  • Self-reliance and an ability to work in a
    challenging and demanding environment.
